Book of Kells Letter 'G'

Cross Stitch Pattern Chart

The Letter 'G'

This illuminated letter 'G' is written in the old Celtic style rather than the 'g' we know today and features the usual animal head and tail seen in many illuminated Celtic letters. The centre also features an area of interlacement or knotwork. Knotwork is traditionally composed of interwoven ribbons, twisted, plaited or knotted together in a repetitive and sometimes complex pattern. It is believed to represent the twists and turns of life and enhance spiritual meditation.

About Celtic Cross Stitch

Celtic Cross Stitch is Ireland's leading cross stitch company, located in Mayo on the West coast of Ireland. Since 1993, they specialise in Irish and Celtic designs, producing high quality cross stitch kits and charts for beginners and experts alike, specialising in Irish and Celtic designs, and are particularly noted for its authentic historical collection of illuminated letters and other illustrations from the Book Of Kells.

Most designs are available in either a full kit, containing all the materials needed to complete the design such as fabric, cottons, needle, pattern, etc. or in a chart pack, containing just the pattern and instructions, ideal for those who already have their own supplies of fabric, cottons and other materials.
