Fastnet Rock, nicknamed 'Ireland's Teardrop', is the most southerly point of Ireland, located in the Atlantic Ocean, it is 6.5 kilometres south of Cape Clear Island. There has been a lighthouse since 1854 and it is the highest lighthouse in Ireland. Fastnet Rock is surrounded by treacherous seas and is the midpoint for some of the world's best known yachting races such as the Fastnet Race
