War of Independence & Irish Civil War

Range of mounted historical pictures focussing on the Irish War of Independence from 1918 to 1921, the treaty negotiations and the tragic Irish Civil War from 1922-1923.

This unique range of mounted pictures captures the essence of the Irish War of Independence from 1919 to 1921, the Treaty, and the Irish Civil War which followed the Treaty when the country split in two and led to the tragic deaths such as Michael Collins and Kevin Boland.

The defeat of the anti-treaty republican forces by the newly created Free State in 1923 cemented the Irish state which exists today, though De Valera would return to power within 10 years.

Features portraits of the major participants and amazing iconic images of these amazing times in Irish history.
