Giants Causeway
Giant's Causeway (b. 1997) is a Kentucky bred thoroughbred rachorse who raced primarily in Europe. In 2000, he won five straight Group One races then, starting from far back in post position 13, he finished second after a thrilling stretch duel with Tiznow in the Breeders' Cup classic. His performances that year earned him European Horse of the Year honours.
In 2001, Giant's Causeway entered stud at Coolmore Stud in Ireland, then the following year he was sent to stand at Coolmore's Australia branch. His success led to the stallion going to Coolmore's US unit, Ashford Stud in Versailles, Kentucky. In 2006, he stood for a fee of $300,00; his 2007 is private, but likely higher.
Giant's Causeway is the sire of First Samuria, Footstepsinthesane, Oonagh Maccool, My Typhoon, Aragorn and Noble Causeway among others.
